Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support a manufacturing organization in Wichita, Kansas through a Contract engagement expected to continue through August. This role will provide hands-on leadership across core accounting activities, ensuring accurate reporting, timely close processes, and dependable financial oversight. The position offers a flexible onsite schedule based on business needs, with a mix of full and partial onsite weeks.

Responsibilities:
• Direct monthly accounting activities to deliver an accurate and timely month-end close.
• Oversee general ledger operations and maintain the integrity of financial records across reporting periods.
• Prepare, review, and approve journal entries to ensure proper classification and documentation of transactions.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies by partnering with relevant stakeholders.
• Support financial statement audit activities by organizing schedules, responding to requests, and addressing follow-up items.
• Provide interim accounting leadership and adapt onsite support based on operational priorities and team needs.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience leading month-end close within a manufacturing or similarly complex business environment.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger management and corporate accounting practices.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and review journal entries with a high degree of accuracy.
• Experience completing account reconciliations and investigating variances effectively.
• Background supporting financial statement audits and coordinating with external or internal auditors.
• Ability to work onsite in Wichita, Kansas on a flexible schedule aligned with business requirements.
