VP of Accounting & Finance
Responsibilities:
• Partner with the President and leadership team to shape financial strategy, evaluate growth opportunities, and support pricing and performance decisions.
• Direct core accounting functions, including the general ledger, payables, receivables, inventory valuation, costing, and month-end close activities.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and scenario analysis to help the business make informed strategic choices.
• Deliver meaningful financial analysis to teams across operations, sales, marketing, and hospitality to improve business results.
• Oversee cash flow planning, liquidity management, and capital deployment to align resources with company priorities.
• Maintain a strong control environment by advancing financial policies, governance practices, and risk management processes.
• Manage accurate and timely financial reporting while coordinating effectively with external auditors, tax partners, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure adherence to applicable financial regulations and industry compliance requirements relevant to the wine sector.
• Review cost structures and profitability across production, vineyard activities, and sales channels to identify efficiency and margin improvement opportunities.
• Lead the finance organization, develop team capability, and evaluate financial systems and technology that improve reporting and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA strongly preferred.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including leadership responsibility at the controller, director, or vice president level.
• Background in wine, manufacturing, or other inventory-driven environments with a strong understanding of operational finance.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, annual budgeting, month-end close, general ledger oversight, and cash flow management.
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, margin analysis, and internal control frameworks.
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and translate financial information into practical business recommendations.
• Experience with accounting platforms such as Business Central; familiarity with warehouse management tools is a plus.
• Exposure to industry systems including Innovint and ShipCompliant, along with knowledge of applicable compliance and reporting requirements.
