Trial Paralegal

We are looking for an experienced Trial Paralegal to join a respected law firm in Irvine, California on a contract basis with the potential to become permanent. This permanent, onsite position supports attorneys handling complex litigation matters and plays a key role from the earliest stages of a case through trial and appeal. The ideal candidate brings strong litigation judgment, thrives in a fast-moving legal environment, and can manage competing deadlines with precision.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee litigation matters throughout the full case lifecycle, including initial filings, trial preparation, and post-trial follow-up.
• Prepare and organize legal documents such as pleadings, written discovery, subpoenas, and attorney correspondence for filing and service.
• Maintain case calendars and monitor critical dates in accordance with California and Federal court rules.
• Coordinate discovery activities, manage document productions, and schedule depositions with internal and external parties.
• Assemble trial materials, including exhibit sets, witness files, binders, and supporting court documents.
• Provide hands-on assistance during trial proceedings and help complete necessary filings after hearings or verdicts.
• Support appellate matters by tracking deadlines, organizing records, and assisting with brief preparation and filing logistics.
• Use e-discovery platforms, case management systems, and trial presentation tools to support efficient litigation workflows.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of paralegal experience supporting complex civil litigation matters.
• Demonstrated background providing direct trial support; appellate litigation experience is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of California and Federal civil procedure, including filing requirements and deadline management.
• Proficiency with e-filing systems, litigation support applications, and document management software.
• Experience handling discovery coordination, trial preparation, and case organization in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work closely with attorneys and legal staff in an onsite setting.

Compensation

$43.54-$50.41 Hourly
