The Curriculum System Designer is responsible for Navy Expeditionary Warfighting Development Center (NEXWDC) course management and curriculum development. Curriculum development will follow instructional system design (ISD) principles required to develop, revise, improve, implement, evaluate, and manage NEXWDC courses. Must have requisite knowledge of PADDIE process. The Curriculum System Designer receives work direction from the Senior Military Analyst for Academics and the Senior Military Analyst for Exercises/Project Manager. The Curriculum System Designer will perform the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, revise, improve, implement, evaluate, and manage NEXWDC courses to meet advanced expeditionary training requirements in accordance with PADDIE methodology.
  • Ensure the principles of ISD are being followed throughout the curriculum development process. ISD includes definition of requirements and refinement of the training continuum, development and maintenance of course curriculum and all training aids/documents, analysis of course effectiveness, provision of training/instruction, and management of courses.
  • Organize/facilitate NEXWDC course offerings throughout the fiscal year.
  • Instruct course curriculum as necessary.
  • Provide support to advance level assessment of NECC forces during certification events such as NECC Integrated Exercises or Fleet Exercises.
  • Provide miscellaneous support to NEXWDC exercise planning and execution as required.
  • Performs other tasks deemed necessary by the Senior Military Analyst for Academics and the Project Manager.
EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma Required, College Degree Preferred.
EXPERIENCE
  • Possess a minimum of ten years of U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, or Army service-level (active or Civil Service) experience in military training and education; instructional design, development and planning; and educational evaluation experience.
  • Former experience in Instructional Systems Design

  • Expert proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, and other media type software.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform diverse duties operating under deadline constraints.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
  • Be able to lift 15 pounds.
