Financial Reporting Manager
Responsibilities:
• Lead the financial reporting team in managing accounting activities related to operating expenses, intercompany matters, corporate allocations, investments, and general ledger reporting.
• Oversee the monthly close process by reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, overhead analyses, and accounts payable adjustments to ensure complete and accurate financial results.
• Prepare and evaluate monthly financial statements, including analysis of variances, account movements, and overall business performance.
• Assess accounting treatment for business activity and confirm transactions are properly recorded in the general ledger in accordance with applicable standards and company policy.
• Coordinate audit support by reviewing schedules and documentation, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring deadlines for year-end reporting are met.
• Research accounting guidance and implement updated procedures, disclosures, and reporting practices to align with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Provide technical direction and day-to-day guidance to accounting staff, resolve reporting issues, and support ongoing training and performance development.
• Partner with internal stakeholders on ad hoc financial reporting, special projects, departmental planning, and policy or process enhancements.
• Support the team’s participation in testing activities related to system patches and upgrades when reporting processes are affected.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and month-end close management.
• Strong background reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and expense-related accounting activity.
• Working knowledge of audit support, disclosure evaluation, and accounting guidance under generally accepted accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for reporting and presentation needs.
• Experience leading or supervising accounting professionals, including coaching, training, and performance oversight.
• Ability to research issues, analyze financial fluctuations, and communicate recommendations clearly to management.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with a focus on accuracy, deadlines, and process improvement.
