Medical Malpractice Paralegal

We are looking for a Medical Malpractice Paralegal to support a busy defense practice. This role is ideal for a legal team member who brings strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a genuine interest in matters involving healthcare providers and healthcare organizations. The position offers the opportunity to manage complex litigation files, contribute to trial readiness, and work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities:
• Manage medical malpractice defense files from intake through resolution, keeping case materials organized and up to date.
• Track court schedules, filing obligations, and litigation milestones to help ensure all deadlines are met promptly.
• Draft and coordinate written discovery, motions, and pleadings for attorney review and case advancement.
• Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, and other case participants to gather information and support case strategy.
• Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial proceedings.
• Maintain accurate records in case management systems and organize documents for efficient retrieval and review.
• Review medical and legal records to identify relevant facts, summarize findings, and support litigation analysis.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of paralegal experience, with a strong background in medical malpractice or comparable civil litigation matters.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare discovery materials, litigation documents, and draft pleadings in a law firm setting.
• Experience supporting trial preparation and coordinating case activity across multiple matters.
• Proficiency with case management software and document organization tools used in litigation practice.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, clients, and experts.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and contribute effectively within a team environment.
• Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment in handling sensitive legal matters.
