Sr. Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Assume full responsibility for the financial and cost accounting functions at the Houston facility, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with company policies.
• Prepare financial statements, audits, and reports to provide management with insights on transactions, operational costs, sales, taxes, depreciation, and asset values.
• Analyze monthly financial and statistical data to identify budget variances and collaborate with manufacturing leadership to develop improvement plans.
• Work closely with the factory manager to prepare operational forecasts and financial plans.
• Conduct periodic reconciliations of general ledger accounts and ensure timely account analysis.
• Implement cost reduction strategies and evaluate programs to improve financial controls and simplify processes.
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls to support the company’s financial infrastructure.
• Manage and oversee administrative personnel responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
• Provide financial and operational data to support other departments, including Quality Management, Safety, Payroll/HR, and Legal.
• Utilize SAP and other accounting tools to perform standard and cost accounting tasks effectively.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in month-end close processes, general ledger management, and journal entry preparation.• Strong expertise in account and bank reconciliations.
• Proficiency in SAP and familiarity with standard cost accounting practices.
• Solid knowledge of cost accounting principles and their application in manufacturing environments.
• Ability to analyze financial data and develop actionable insights.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills to manage administrative personnel effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
Compensation
