Exercise Lead

The Exercise Lead reports to and receives work direction derivatives from the MSTP Project Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain exercise scenarios using model‑, script‑driven, and hybrid methods, and adapt scenarios to meet event‑specific training objectives.
Generate and update all required orders and annexes/appendices for MSTP exercises and supported events across all warfighting functions and domains.
Produce Planning Books in accordance with MSTP SOPs and coordinate with Joint and Service partners to ensure alignment of objectives and scenario design.
Develop exercise design documentation across and staff documents for review.
Participate in planning conferences, working groups, and coordination meetings to support MSTP led and MSTP supported exercises and wargames, as well as in all required Joint Event Life Cycle/Exercise Life Cycle events.
Execute functional responsibilities in designated Response Cells.
Coordinate with EXCON to develop, refine, synchronize, and execute MSEL storylines, ensuring accurate and timely MSEL event injection.
Provide doctrinal guidance and develop strategic communication messaging and exerciserelated media, across all warfighting functions and domains.
Maintain and annually update MSTP Exercise SOP Volume I, coordinating staffing and publication actions as required.
EDUCATION
Master's degree is required (operations research, management, military science, or equivalent area desired).
Minimum three years of experience in military training and education. Attendance at Intermediate Level School, such as Marine Corps CSC, or completion of equivalent nonresident course is required. Completion of Advanced ILS/TLS and attendance at SAW or NWC is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated stafflevel experience with JOPP/MCPP at the Division, Wing, or MLG level, including deployment and employment of ground, aviation, supporting arms, and combat service support units.
Minimum three years of demonstrated knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at the operational command level.
Minimum two years of experience in DoD modeling and simulation.

Strong communication and presentation skills. Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Able to design and write clear communications and present training programs.
Excellent organizational, planning, problem-solving, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent computer skills required. Proficient in the entire suite of MS Office and able to quickly learn additional systems. Familiarity with SharePoint and C2PC is desired.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus
Daily travel in local area during work day (including use of personal vehicle)
Be able to work an unstable schedule, to include holidays and weekends.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required for up to three weeks at a time (or longer)
Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company's auto insurance provider.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
A Secret security clearance is required for this position.
This position also requires a completed Personnel Security Investigation that will qualify the incumbent to be eligible for access to at least the TS-SCI level, and the individual must be read-in for NATO level access.
