The Pre-Engineered Technician will independently perform installation, commissioning, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of pre-engineered fire suppression systems. This role ensures systems are installed and maintained in compliance with applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and customer expectations while managing assigned work with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, test, and repair pre-engineered systems per NFPA and manufacturer specifications.
- Replace/charge agents, service cylinders/cartridges, and verify detection and actuation.
- Identify deficiencies and perform corrective actions; ensure AHJ compliance.
- Read and apply manufacturer manuals and service bulletins.
- Complete accurate inspection reports, deficiency lists, and close-out documentation.
- Communicate system condition and recommendations to customers.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace; follow all safety procedures.
- Respond to emergency service calls.
- Use of hand tools and testing equipment.
- Travel to job sites as required.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Education/Qualification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician preferred
- NICET Level I or above preferred.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 17/17A/96 and manufacturer requirements.
- Must have a clean driving record and active driver's license, if driving role.
- Strong understanding of pre-engineered systems, practices and applicable codes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Must be well-spoken and eager to learn.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
- Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
- Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work for extended periods.
Other Duties:
- Adheres to Pye-Barker Fire & Safety policies, safety standards, and code of conduct.
Pay:
- $20 per hour plus Commission.
