Tax Director/Manager - Corporate
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Tax Manager to join our clients corporate tax team in a fully remote capacity. This role is ideal for a tax professional with strong technical expertise in corporate taxation, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality client service.
The Tax Manager will oversee corporate tax compliance and consulting engagements for a diverse client base, including middle-market and closely held businesses across multiple industries. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing client relationships, mentoring staff, and handling complex tax matters in a fast-paced remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns
- Oversee tax compliance engagements for C corporations, consolidated groups, and multi-entity organizations
- Lead tax planning and advisory projects related to entity structure, transactions, and tax minimization strategies
- Review quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC 740
- Research complex tax issues and prepare technical memoranda and client recommendations
- Manage client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact for tax matters
- Supervise, mentor, and develop tax associates and senior staff
- Coordinate workflow, deadlines, and engagement budgets across multiple projects
- Assist with state nexus, apportionment, and multistate tax considerations
- Support IRS and state tax notice responses, audits, and controversy matters
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate impacts to clients and internal teams
- Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, audit, and advisory teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA license required; Master of Taxation (MST) preferred
- 5–8+ years of public accounting or corporate tax experience
- Strong experience with corporate tax compliance and planning
- Knowledge of ASC 740 tax provisions preferred
- Experience with multistate taxation and consolidated returns
- Proficiency in tax software such as CCH Axcess, GoSystem, OneSource, or similar platforms
- Strong project management and leadership capabilities
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a remote setting
Compensation
