| Physical Requirements | Include driving to locations in Lexington and Madison counties, doing mosquito field collections using traps during summer weather, and standing or sitting for long periods of time while doing lab work. |

| Job Summary | The technician will work on the project Understanding West Nile Virus Transmission Dynamics in Kentucky. Duties include field collections of mosquitoes, taxonomic and molecular identification of mosquitoes, molecular detection of WNV in mosquitoes, and data analysis. |
| Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Interest in entomology; molecular biology skills, including extraction and PCR. Driver’s License required |

| Preferred Education/Experience | Bachelor’s degree in Entomology, Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or a related field preferred. An associate degree in a related field will be accepted. Candidates who have completed all degree requirements and are awaiting graduation will also be considered. |
