What You Will Do
- This position will assist the Dean's Office, Senior Director of Development and SOE leadership team in a variety of essential projects and events to support development, alumni relations, and communication activities in the SIUE School of Engineering.
- This position will work and assist in the development and implementation of assigned programs for alumni, donors, industry partners, friends of the School, and student organizations.
- This role will initiate projects that will be beneficial to the work of the development program in the School and is expected to anticipate next steps and follow-up related to fundraising and communication activities.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree
AND
-Bachelor's degree specifically in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Public Administration, Mass Communication, Business or a related field required.
-Minimum 3 years of work experience planning events.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in development, communications, alumni relations, marketing, public relations, or similar work; Preferred competencies include: Strong interpersonal and communications skills; ability to manage confidential information with discretion and tact; demonstrated skill and knowledge of (or ability to learn quickly) the internal workings of a University as well as the technology tools available to development, including RaisersEdge NXT (the University's Donor Relationship Management System), Awards Management, Microsoft Windows computer environment, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of HTML and design software such as Cascade and social media platforms; ability to work collegially and collaboratively in a team setting; flexibility and adaptability to new programs in an emerging and changing environment; willingness and ability to travel to campus and/or non-campus locations for University business; willingness and ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
