Payroll Specialist

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Torrance, California on a Contract basis. This part-time, fully onsite assignment is expected to run for approximately 4 to 6 weeks and will support essential payroll and HR coordination activities for a busy workplace. The ideal candidate brings hands-on Paycom experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to keep payroll processes accurate, timely, and compliant.

Responsibilities:
• Manage bi-weekly payroll processing for approximately 130 employees using Paycom, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Review payroll data carefully to support compliance with California wage and hour requirements for a non-union employee population.
• Maintain organized payroll files, records, and supporting documentation in line with internal standards and legal guidelines.
• Provide day-to-day HR administrative support, including updating employee information and assisting with onboarding and offboarding tasks.
• Respond to employee questions related to payroll and HR matters with professionalism and urgency.
• Work closely with managers and internal partners to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience running payroll in Paycom is required.
• Demonstrated background in full-cycle payroll processing.
• Working knowledge of California payroll regulations and compliance standards.
• Ability to work onsite in Torrance, California with a flexible part-time schedule.
• Strong accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in payroll administration.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive employee information professionally.

Compensation

$28.50-$33.00 Hourly
