Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing team in Mission, Kansas in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end activities, and strengthening day-to-day accounting operations. The role offers an opportunity to apply strong reconciliation and general ledger experience while working with tools such as NetSuite and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial activity is recorded accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain and review general ledger accounts, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Perform recurring reconciliations for bank accounts and balance sheet accounts to support accurate reporting.
• Support accounts payable activities by verifying coding, reviewing transactions, and assisting with proper financial documentation.
• Use NetSuite to manage accounting records, monitor transactions, and assist with routine financial processes.
• Analyze daily financial activity and complete regular reconciliations to confirm account accuracy.
• Build and maintain Excel-based reports, formulas, and VBA-supported tools to improve efficiency and reporting quality.
• Assist with month-end close tasks and provide accounting support needed to keep financial operations running smoothly.

Qualifications:

• Experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting position with hands-on responsibility for core accounting functions.
• Strong working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliation practices.
• Proficiency with NetSuite and Microsoft Excel, including formulas and VBA.
• Background supporting accounts payable processes and reviewing transactional accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to complete bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong analytical skills with careful attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Compensation

$26.44-$33.65 Hourly
