Interim HR Generalist (4–5 Week Assignment)

Robert Half is partnering with a large, nationally recognized organization seeking an experienced Interim HR Generalist to support their HR team during a leave of absence and while they fill an open position. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys employee relations, conducting investigations, and serving as a trusted resource for employees in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for employees and management, helping address workplace concerns while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct employee relations investigations involving workplace complaints, interpersonal conflicts, policy concerns, and other employee issues.
Interview employees, gather facts, document findings, and prepare investigation summaries for leadership review and decision-making.
Manage multiple investigations simultaneously, prioritizing issues based on urgency and business impact.
Provide guidance and support to employees seeking HR assistance regarding workplace concerns.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and investigation documentation.
Process personnel changes and employee transactions through internal HR systems.
Create, update, and maintain employee files, electronic records, and SharePoint documentation.
Coordinate employee access and permissions to HR-related systems and resources.
Partner closely with the HR team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations during a critical transition period.
What We're Looking For
3+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
Strong employee relations and workplace investigation experience.
Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
Ability to conduct objective, thorough, and well-documented investigations.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities.
Experience in transportation, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, or other high-volume employee environments is a plus.

Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or closely related HR role.• Demonstrated success handling employee relations matters and conducting workplace investigations.
• Solid understanding of employment practices, HR compliance expectations, and standard people processes.
• Ability to gather facts objectively, document findings thoroughly, and manage sensitive situations with sound judgment.
• Strong communication and conflict-management skills, with the ability to build trust across employee groups and leadership levels.
• High level of discretion and attention to detail when working with confidential information.
• Comfort working independently, balancing competing priorities, and adapting quickly in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience with HR administration, onboarding, benefits support, and HRIS tools is preferred, particularly in transportation, logistics, manufacturing, or other high-volume environments.
Compensation
