Senior Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Prepare detailed account analyses, journal entry support, and other working papers to maintain accurate general and subsidiary ledger activity.
• Manage key close activities by coordinating posting schedules, reviewing balances, and helping deliver timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Examine trial balances, financial statements, and reconciliations to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and improve reporting accuracy.
• Perform account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet and control accounts, including investigating coding issues and recording needed adjustments.
• Support multi-entity accounting by preparing consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and reviews of financial data across related organizations.
• Partner with internal teams to refine accounting workflows, strengthen internal controls, and document procedures that improve efficiency and consistency.
• Prepare reporting packages, trend analyses, and board-level or ad hoc financial summaries to support leadership decision-making.
• Assist with tax and compliance-related activities such as responding to notices, supporting filings, recording provisions, and coordinating with external advisors when needed.
• Compile audit schedules and provide supporting documentation for annual audits and other financial review activities.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.• At least four years of experience preparing financial statements, recording journal entries, and completing account reconciliations.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close, and accrual-based financial reporting.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel, including complex spreadsheet development; experience with Access is also required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate well in a team environment.
• Experience with Oracle is preferred.
• Background in a multi-specialty physician practice or broader healthcare environment is preferred.
Compensation
