Controller
We are looking for a Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for a portfolio of affiliated businesses in West Columbia, South Carolina. This role is responsible for delivering accurate reporting, strengthening financial controls, and guiding cash strategy across multiple entities. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, multi-company environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the daily accounting activities across the holding company and its related businesses, ensuring accurate records and consistent financial oversight.
• Prepare monthly financial packages, review results for accuracy, and provide timely insight to leadership on company performance.
• Support the budgeting process and prepare monthly forecast and financial projections for operating companies and new initiatives.
• Manage accounts payable, invoicing, payroll, receivables follow-up, and other core accounting functions to maintain efficient day-to-day operations.
• Partner closely with ownership on financial matters, special projects, and other business needs requiring analytical or administrative support.
Qualifications:
• Strong understanding of GAAP and established financial control practices.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, financial statement preparation, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and other accounting or reporting tools.
• Ability to analyze financial data, identify issues, and recommend practical solutions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple companies and competing deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and a high level of discretion and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline preferred; certification is a plus.
Compensation
