Bookkeeper
We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support financial operations for a construction-focused organization in Chattanooga, Tennessee. (Must have construction experience) This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing day-to-day accounting activity, maintaining accurate records, and helping keep projects and vendors financially organized. The right candidate will bring hands-on experience in construction accounting and a strong command of core bookkeeping processes, including payables, receivables, and reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
• Manage invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor records to ensure accounts payable activity is completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain organized financial documentation and update bookkeeping records to support daily accounting operations.
• Track incoming payments, apply receipts correctly, and follow up on outstanding balances related to accounts receivable.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies to preserve accurate cash reporting.
• Use QuickBooks to record transactions, prepare routine financial information, and support accounting accuracy.
• Assist with construction-related bookkeeping tasks, including cost tracking and documentation connected to ongoing projects.
• Partner with internal teams and external vendors to answer billing questions and address account issues efficiently.

Qualifications:
• Prior experience in a bookkeeping position with responsibility for day-to-day accounting support.
• Background in the construction or contractor industry is required.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks in an accounting or bookkeeping environment.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office setting.
