Administrative Assistant
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant with healthcare industry experience to support daily operations in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires strong administrative skills, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to healthcare providers, office managers, and clinical staff
- Schedule patient appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate follow-ups
- Answer and route incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and greet patients professionally
- Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR/EMR) accurately
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and authorizations
- Prepare, scan, and file patient documentation and medical records
- Assist with billing coordination, referrals, and documentation requests
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
- Order office supplies and assist with general office organization
- Support special projects and reporting as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
- 2+ years of administrative experience in a healthcare or medical office setting
- Experience working with EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office workflows
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations
- Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Bilingual (preferred but not required)
Compensation
