ABOUT THE ROLE

(This is a 4-month Contract Assignment)

General Recruiting and Hiring

  • Maintains and distributes candidate documents of qualified applicants to appropriate parties; maintains applicant files; creates and updates various tracking documents when requested.
  • As directed by department leads, helps establish strong relationships with prospective hires to ensure substantive, ongoing contact with the Firm, and to promote desired acceptance rates. Provides ongoing applicant communications, guidance, informational and policy assistance, etc.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal and external clients including attorneys, staff, school Career Services Counselors, outside agencies, other recruiters, etc.
  • Acts as ambassador for the Firm in all aspects of attorney recruiting, presenting a consistently professional and positive demeanor.
  • Responsible for the preparation of all relevant Applicant Tracking Systems and other documentation for new hires; proactively ensures that all necessary departments and parties are informed/notified to facilitate new hires arrival and orientation.
  • Substantively participates in firmwide and local recruiting meetings and committees.
  • Facilitates daily workflow of the Recruiting group, setting up meetings with video conferencing capabilities, reserving conference rooms, catering, updating various spreadsheets, etc.
  • Prepares documents relating to recruiting and hiring, including candidate correspondence, and candidate communications, etc.
  • Enters applicant data into applicant tracking system and maintains tracking log.

Primary Responsibilities: Summer Associate Program, Campus Engagement, and Law Student Recruiting

  • Guided by direction of the relevant Attorney Recruiting Manager, Firm objectives, and the Director of Attorney Recruiting, assists in all aspects of the Summer Associate Program; orientation and training, scheduling, quality, and quantity of all summer associate assignments; provides administrative assistance with the midsummer and final performance review process.
  • Provides administrative and event support for student outreach events, Summer Associate Program events and offeree events, with availability to attend all planned events.
  • Works closely with recruiting partners, associates, and the Attorney Recruiting Manager to develop and encourage attorney participation in on-campus recruiting events at local law schools. Attends law student recruiting events as needed.
  • Supports 1L and 2L law student hiring for the office including resume review, preparing interview packets, scheduling screening/callback interviews, gathering feedback, and following up on offers.

ABOUT YOU

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree plus 1-2 years of recruiting experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Strong technology skills in MS Office products such as Word and Excel. Familiarity with Human Resource systems and relational databases preferred.
  • Ability to learn new systems including FloRecruit (used for on-campus recruitment) and other firm systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels within and outside the firm.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment demonstrating reliability, dependability and flexibility is essential.
  • Excellent organizational, process, and follow-through skills. Ability to prepare accurate, highly detailed work product.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and work independently. Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively.
  • Ability to anticipate issues, assess information, and provide responsive solutions.
  • High client service ethic and a proven record in delivering exemplary client satisfaction to external and internal client constituencies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and critical deadlines. Ability to handle stressors related to the position and high interpersonal interaction.
  • Ability to keep confidential any information, observations, or viewpoints regarding Firm business matters.
