This position requires the individual to be on the CDC job site in Atlanta, Georgia, Monday through Friday each week.



How will your days be spent

  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of construction contracts in accordance with the government architect agreement, facilitating timely communication between the government, contractor, architect, and consultants.
  • Review, evaluate, and respond to RFI’s and review submittals. Bring questions or concerns to the attention of design team members.
  • Monitor construction changes, shop drawings, samples, and other submissions from the contractor.
  • Perform on-site observations and document results relative to the contractor’s conformance with contract documents.
  • Provide prompt and expeditious service regarding matters of interpretation, decision, construction bulletins, and other matters that contribute to a smooth workflow.
  • Coordinate and request scheduled and unscheduled observations. Support periodic inspections and preparation of monthly reports.
  • Assist in or lead preparation of contract change orders, request for proposals, and evaluation of change order proposals. Maintain documentation of any change directive.
  • Attend government, architect, and contractor meetings.


What you bring to this role

Experience:

  • Minimum of ten years of architectural experience working on large scale projects required.
  • Significant experience with and a deep understanding of construction administration processes required.
  • Prior experience with government projects preferred.
  • Ability to effectively work with team members and manage multiple demands required. Must have strong attention to detail with analytical and technical skills, proven organizational and interpersonal skills, and ability to adjust to shifting priorities and/or deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including in-person and virtual conversations required.

Software:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and web-based project management programs preferred.

Education:

  • Degree in architecture, engineering, building construction, or related field required.
  • Registered Architect in the United States preferred.
  • Successful completion of the Construction Documents Technology (CDT) program preferred; Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) certification preferred.
  • Sustainability accreditation preferred.
