Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager (Jacksonville, FL)
A. Harold and Associates, LLC (AHA) is a federal contractor who is dedicated to financial integrity and operational excellence. AHA is seeking a Sr. Accountant/Accounting Manager who is detail oriented and analytical to support our team and drive our accounting operations. The candidate should be well-versed in an array of accounting responsibilities. This position will be the primary accounting lead for our small company. This position will play a critical role in managing day-to-day accounting support.
This part-time, hybrid position is based in our Jacksonville, FL office and requires at least one in-office day per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Month End Close: Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including the preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Allocation of costs to indirect rate pools.
- GAAP compliance and DCAA audit compliance.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and monthly reporting to executives.Compliance and Audits: Ensure internal controls are maintained and support external audits by providing requested documentation and analysis.
- Serve as a key point of contact for accounts payable/receivable, payroll and contracts.
- Tax & Regulatory: Assist with annual corporate tax filings and ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements.
- Manage and administrate 401k retirement plan.
- Assist outside CPA with annual review and financial statement preparations, tax prep and 401k Audit.
- Serve as primary POC for banking relationship and reporting as needed.
- Billing and invoicing; monitoring funding needed by contract.
- Contract budget maintenance.
- CBA employees, compliance and negotiations.
- SCA employee compliance.
- Payroll back up as secondary support.
- Cash Flow management and bill pay.
- Excellent communication (email) and writing skills.
- Set up new contracts and modifications in all systems.
- Timekeeping administration.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist with government and commercial contracts drafting, negotiation, management, and administration.
- Assist with contracts audit and its applications.
- Working Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Department of Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS).
- Proficiency in Acquisition pricing, preparing Request for Quotes (RFQ), Request for Proposals (RFP), and interpreting requirements.
- Assist legal advisors regarding CBA negotiations.
- Ensure contract close-out, extension or renewal.
- Familiarity with HR compliance and regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors degree in accounting.
- Experience: 5 years + of progressive accounting or finance experience, public accounting experience highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advance Proficiency in Microsoft excel. Familiarity with cost accounting ERP systems.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, communicational and organizational skills.
- Experience with Government contract accounting a plus.
