Position Description

Looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our Pediatric Hospital Medicine team. In this role, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team providing high-quality, family-centered care to acutely ill children. From managing common childhood illnesses to coordinating care for complex medical conditions, you will act as a clinical leader in the pediatric inpatient setting, ensuring every patient receives evidence-based treatment in a supportive environment.

Major/Essential Functions

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Management: Conduct comprehensive physical exams, develop differential diagnoses, and implement treatment plans for pediatric patients admitted to the hospital.
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with attending physicians, sub-specialists, nursing staff, and social workers to coordinate seamless transitions and discharges.
  • Diagnostics: Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging).
  • Patient Advocacy: Provide education and support to patients and their families, ensuring they are active participants in the plan of care.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in hospital committees, peer reviews, and clinical research to improve pediatric outcomes and safety.


Required Qualifications

Graduated from an approved accredited nursing program; current RN license in the State of Texas or have the ability to transfer your license to Texas. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the appropriate nursing specialty from an approved certification program as recognized by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners. Recognition by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advance Practitioner.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in pediatric inpatient care or pediatric emergency department.
