Chief Analyst - SOM Provider Incentive Programs

Position Description

Performs specialized analytical duties in the operation and maintenance of assigned area. Responsibilities include representing the School of Medicine and Texas Tech Physicians to internal and external stakeholders, collecting, analyzing and developing data relative to area, making recommendations and assisting in implementation of projects. Work is performed under general supervision with latitude for independent judgement in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the financial analysis and modeling of provider compensation as assigned, and maintaining a database of all active providers and associated terms.
  • Support and communicate compensation planning processes through data analysis, development and delivery of presentations, and clear guidance to leadership, employees, and faculty regarding compensation philosophy, structures, market benchmarking, and incentive programs.
  • Thorough research and analysis followed by correct, precise data and reports communicated clearly, concisely, and timely.
  • Contribute to the development of documented knowledge to provide history and helpful information for future analysts.
  • Become expert in analytical tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel) and use expertise to further departmental mission and priorities.


Occasional Duties

Assist with other projects, analyses, and duties as assigned by the Sr. Director.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required plus five years progressively responsible related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with provider compensation plans.
  • Advanced Excel skills with demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets, build compensation models, create pivot tables, apply complex formulas, and develop clear, presentation-ready reports.
  • Experience with general accounting principles and an understanding of Academic Medicine Finances and partner contracts.
