Brooks Instrument (www.brooksinstrument.com), an industry leader in flow and pressure instrumentation for critical applications, is seeking candidates for an Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician position that will be based at the company headquarters in Hatfield, Pennsylvania (suburban Philadelphia). Basic Function

Work with the Variable Area team to fabricate and maintain electro-mechanical equipment for test and calibration in worldwide operations.  Support manufacturing technical issues as they arise in the production and testing of VA meters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and document test fixtures for use in VA meter production and testing

  • Decipher electronic, mechanical schematics and flow diagrams.

  • Troubleshoot and validate correct operation of test equipment.

  • Document procedures for assembling and testing of VA meters. 

  • Procure components, including searching catalogs, requesting quotes, and completing purchase requisitions.

  • Resolve VA Engineering tickets and GEMBA level tasks affecting manufacturing order completion.

  • Regular attendance.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic troubleshooting equipment and mechanical assembly tools.

  • Handle and install valves, tubing, and fittings.

  • Experience connecting PC systems, DAQ hardware, communication ports, and instrumentation is required.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Tools is required.

  • CAD experience is required (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude with the skills to set up and utilize various mechanical and electronic laboratory equipment.

  • Related experience or training in the following areas a plus:

    • Process control instrumentation

    • Metrology

    • Data collection and analysis

    • Calibration

  • Ability to get along with others in a team environment and to follow all safety procedures.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a related field

  • Technical Associates degree required.

Physical Demands   

Individual must be physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. On occasion may need to kneel, crawl and work in cramped areas. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions of the position on.
