Accounting Assistant
Responsibilities:
• Process accounts payable activities by reviewing invoice details, assigning correct coding, and preparing items for timely payment.
• Support accounts receivable operations by recording incoming payments, monitoring account activity, and assisting with issue resolution when discrepancies arise.
• Reconcile daily cash collections from multiple sources by comparing transaction records, identifying differences, and updating accounting entries as needed.
• Prepare bank deposits by organizing cash and check receipts and completing related deposit documentation with accuracy.
• Maintain financial and statistical records to support routine reporting and ensure accounting information remains complete and current.
• Investigate accounting variances and follow through on corrective updates to help preserve the integrity of financial data.
• Use Microsoft Excel to organize financial information, track activity, and assist with recurring account analysis.
• Work closely with internal staff, customers, and vendors to address payment questions and support smooth accounting operations.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of experience in an accounting support or accounting assistant role.• Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation activities.
• Ability to code invoices accurately and maintain organized financial documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, reviewing, and analyzing accounting data.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
• Effective communication skills and a detail-oriented approach when working with coworkers, vendors, and customers.
• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and produce accurate work with limited supervision.
