Legal Assistant/Paralegal

We are looking for a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support a plaintiff-side personal injury practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This is a Contract position for a detail-oriented candidate who can manage case documentation, coordinate litigation support tasks, and keep deadlines on track in an in-office setting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable preparing discovery materials, organizing records for production, and assisting with court-related filings while maintaining accuracy throughout the case lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, and organize discovery materials for plaintiff personal injury matters, including interrogatories and document production packets.
• Draft and assemble responses to written discovery requests while ensuring supporting records are complete and properly tracked.
• Coordinate electronic filing of legal documents with courts and confirm submissions meet formatting and timing requirements.
• Maintain calendars for case deadlines, hearings, and litigation milestones to help the legal team stay ahead of scheduling needs.
• Manage physical and electronic case files, keeping pleadings, correspondence, and evidence organized and easy to retrieve.
• Work closely with attorneys and staff to gather medical records, supporting documents, and other materials needed for active cases.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in plaintiff personal injury law.
• Working knowledge of discovery procedures, including drafting or supporting interrogatories, requests, and responses.
• Experience handling document production and organizing case materials for litigation.
• Proficiency with electronic filing systems and court submission processes.
• Strong calendar management skills with the ability to monitor multiple deadlines accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail, written communication, and file organization abilities.

Compensation

$19.79-$22.00 Hourly
