Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting and tax activities for a Long-term Contract position based in Geneva, New York. This role is well suited for someone who can manage day-to-day financial tasks with accuracy while contributing to reporting, compliance, and account reconciliation efforts. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in general ledger accounting, tax-related work, and financial systems such as ADP and Workday.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record journal entries to maintain accurate and timely financial data across accounting periods.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to support the integrity of financial records.
• Assist with corporate tax activities, including gathering documentation and supporting tax return preparation.
• Manage sales tax processes by reviewing transactions, validating tax treatment, and helping ensure timely filings.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities through account analysis, documentation, and reporting assistance.
• Use accounting platforms, including ADP and Workday, to process financial information and maintain reliable records.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide accounting support, respond to inquiries, and improve reporting accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.
• Practical knowledge of corporate tax and sales tax processes.
• Ability to prepare and post journal entries with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong understanding of general ledger structure, reconciliations, and financial record maintenance.
• Familiarity with corporate tax return support and related documentation.
• Hands-on experience using ADP, Workday, or comparable financial systems.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Compensation

$27.00-$32.00 Hourly
