Staff Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's dynamic insurance organization based in the Horsham area, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting key financial initiatives. Responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit quarterly and annual financial statements and required reports in alignment with insurance regulatory guidelines.
• Analyze and compile financial data to ensure the accuracy and compliance of all financial reports.
• Perform account reconciliations to maintain accuracy and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Strengthen and maintain internal controls over financial transactions and reporting processes.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with evolving federal, state, and local insurance regulations.
• Support external audits by providing documentation and detailed explanations as needed.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by analyzing financial trends and offering actionable insights.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Participate in special financial projects assigned by leadership to support organizational goals.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.• At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably within the insurance industry.
• Strong knowledge of statutory accounting principles and regulatory filing requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Solid understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, and month-end close processes.
• Experience with general ledger management and creating journal entries.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and present financial data clearly.
Compensation
