Regional Controller
We are looking for an experienced Regional Controller to lead financial operations for our construction client in Fort Worth, Texas. This role is responsible for delivering accurate reporting, strengthening financial controls, and providing regional leadership with meaningful insights that support profitability and sound decision-making. The ideal candidate brings deep accounting expertise, strong business judgment, and the ability to guide teams in a multi-site, project-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
• Direct the monthly close process by overseeing journal entry review, validating financial results, and investigating significant fluctuations across regional operations.
• Manage core accounting activities tied to construction projects, including revenue recognition, work in progress tracking, job costing, and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Establish and uphold effective control procedures that support audit readiness, policy compliance, and accurate financial reporting.
• Partner with operational and executive leaders to develop budgets, refine forecasts, and interpret financial performance trends for strategic planning.
• Provide actionable guidance on margin performance, cash management, and overall financial health to help regional teams make informed business decisions.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff while promoting standardized practices and continuous improvement across locations.
• Oversee receivables, payables, cash flow, and working capital to help maintain strong liquidity and operational efficiency.
• Support business growth initiatives by assisting with the financial onboarding and integration of newly acquired or added entities within the region.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.• At least 7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including 3 or more years in a controller-level leadership role.
• Background supporting multiple locations, ideally within construction, contracting, or other project-based business environments.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, month-end close procedures, job cost accounting, percentage-of-completion accounting, and work-in-progress reporting.
• Experience with financial systems such as NetSuite and advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data, communicate clearly with leadership, and influence business decisions.
• Proven success leading teams, improving processes, and maintaining strong internal controls in a fast-paced environment.
