Entry Level Accountant

We are looking for a motivated entry-level accounting team member to join a growing team in Boston, Massachusetts. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who is eager to build a foundation in accounting while gaining hands-on experience across payables, cash activity, and reconciliations. The role offers a supportive environment for someone with strong communication skills, a dependable work ethic, and the willingness to learn new processes and systems.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices and support timely payment activities while maintaining accurate financial records.
• Apply incoming cash receipts and help ensure transactions are posted correctly within the accounting system.
• Perform cash and account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and assist with resolution.
• Review and track company credit card activity, confirming expenses are properly recorded and documented.
• Provide basic accounts receivable support, including light follow-up on outstanding balances when needed.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with routine accounting updates to keep records current and organized.
• Work closely with the accounting team to support daily financial operations and contribute to process accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for basic tracking, analysis, and record maintenance.
• Foundational understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and accounting entries.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a detail-oriented and team-oriented approach.
• Demonstrated reliability, positive attitude, and commitment to learning in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work onsite in Boston, Massachusetts, 2 to 3 days per week.
• Capacity to manage details carefully and follow established procedures with consistency.
• Experience with NetSuite is helpful, but not required.

Compensation

$23.00-$27.00 Hourly
