Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support a busy construction-focused team in Aurora, Colorado. This is a Contract position expected to run for approximately 8 to 10 weeks, offering the opportunity to step into a high-volume environment and keep invoice processing moving efficiently. The ideal candidate brings hands-on accounts payable experience, strong accuracy with coding, and the ability to manage daily workloads with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities:
• Process a high volume of vendor invoices each day while maintaining speed and accuracy throughout the accounts payable cycle.
• Review and assign proper account codes to invoices before entering transactions into the company’s accounting platform.
• Enter payable data into Viewpoint Spectrum and verify that information is complete, accurate, and aligned with internal records.
• Prepare and support payment activities, including ACH transactions and check runs, in accordance with established schedules.
• Reconcile invoice details against supporting documentation and follow up on discrepancies to prevent processing delays.
• Coordinate with internal team members and vendors to resolve payment questions, coding issues, and missing information.
• Help maintain continuity in accounts payable operations during a short-term staffing gap caused by a team transition.
• Organize payable records and ensure documentation is filed and retained in a clear, audit-ready manner.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in accounts payable with the ability to manage invoice processing in a fast-paced setting.
• Working knowledge of account coding and invoice entry procedures.
• Experience handling ACH payments and check run preparation.
• Familiarity with Viewpoint Spectrum or a comparable accounting system used for payable processing.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial data.
• Ability to prioritize a heavy daily workload and meet deadlines consistently.
• Construction industry experience is preferred.
• Effective communication skills for working with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Compensation

$23.75-$27.50 Hourly
