We’re partnering with a well-established, locally respected construction company looking to add an Accountant to their close‑knit accounting team. This is an awesome opportunity for someone early in their career who’s eager to learn, ask questions, and grow into construction accounting with strong mentorship.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be trained step‑by‑step—construction accounting experience is not required (although it is a bonus of course).

  • Learn and support job costing across multiple active projects
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable
  • Help prepare client and project billings
  • Track and reconcile project costs with strong attention to detail
  • Partner with Project Managers & field teams to keep projects financially on track
  • Gain cross‑functional experience across accounting over time

Qualifications:

What They’re Looking For

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor’s degree or solid internships also welcome)
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred
  • Interest in construction, job costing, or project-based accounting
  • Comfortable in Excel and learning new systems
  • Team-first mentality—no task is “too small”
  • Personality and willingness to learn matter more than knowing everything day one.

Schedule & Work Style

  • Fully onsite (Des Moines area)
  • Typical hours: 7:30/8:00–4:30
  • 40 hours/week with some flexibility during busy periods
  • Minimal/no travel
  • Business casual attire
