Accounting & Payroll Specialist – Bernalillo, NM

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting & Payroll Specialist to join our growing construction company. This position is responsible for weekly payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable support, invoicing, reconciliations, certified payroll reporting, employee onboarding, and a variety of administrative functions that help keep the business running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment. Construction industry experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a solid accounting background. This is a full-time, in-office position offering competitive pay ($22-$30+/hour depending on experience), excellent benefits, and the opportunity to learn and grow with a well-established company.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll administration, or a closely related financial support role.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and account reconciliation processes.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage confidential information responsibly and accurately.
• Ability to organize competing priorities and meet recurring deadlines in a busy office environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with employees, vendors, and internal team members.
• Proficiency with standard accounting systems and business software used for payroll and financial recordkeeping.
• Construction industry experience is helpful, though candidates with solid accounting fundamentals and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
