Accounting Manager/Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager / Client Services Manager to take full ownership of a dedicated portfolio of 80–100+ business and individual clients. This role operates as an “accounting firm within an accounting firm” and requires strong leadership, technical accounting and tax expertise, exceptional client service, and the ability to mentor and oversee bookkeeping staff.
Client Accounting & Advisory
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, maintaining meaningful monthly communication and documenting interactions
- Review monthly financial statements promptly to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery
- Provide ongoing consulting, accounting guidance, and proactive tax planning based on client needs
- Monitor client profitability monthly and collaborate with firm leadership on fee adjustments
- Visit client locations annually to strengthen relationships and understand operations
Tax Management
- Manage preparation and review of business and individual tax returns for assigned clients
- Oversee year‑end tax planning, quarterly tax estimates, and reasonable compensation analysis
- Coordinate tax return production, maintain organized tax files, and manage deadlines
- Handle tax questions and correspondence with federal, state, and local taxing authorities
- Supervise, train, and support bookkeepers, including hiring and performance management
- Review bookkeeping work, monitor production metrics, and ensure workflow efficiency
- Lead weekly meetings to review production status, client issues, and staff needs
- Provide technical accounting support and guidance to staff
- Lead initial strategy sessions and oversee full new‑client setup and installations
- Process new accounts initially before transitioning to bookkeeping staff
- Complete back‑work, registrations, and incorporation coordination as needed
- Ensure clients are reporting accurately and on time before full handoff
- Actively request and generate client referrals to support portfolio growth
- Identify opportunities to expand firm services within existing client relationships
- Support special projects including cash‑flow projections, loan applications, and system implementations
- Serve as liaison with accounting, tax, payroll, and IT software vendors
- Support system updates, software conversions, and client training
- Maintain a professional office presence and model strong organizational habits
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and efficient office culture
Qualifications:

- Proven experience managing business and individual client accounting and tax engagements
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, financial statement review, and tax compliance
- Prior experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff

Compensation
