Accounting Manager/Supervisor
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead core accounting operations and provide reliable financial insight for business decision-making in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. This position oversees the accuracy of reporting, strengthens department processes, and supports leadership with forward-looking financial guidance. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge along with the ability to improve workflows and guide team performance.
Responsibilities:
• Direct daily accounting activities and refine departmental procedures to improve accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
• Prepare, review, and interpret financial reports to ensure leadership has clear visibility into organizational performance.
• Advise company leaders on financial trends, risks, and planning considerations that support sound business decisions.
• Supervise accounting staff, provide performance feedback, and help develop a productive and accountable team environment.
• Build forecasts and planning models to anticipate upcoming financial requirements and operational needs.
• Monitor revenue and expenses closely to maintain accurate records and support budget oversight.
• Lead month-end closing activities, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy.
• Identify opportunities to automate recurring accounting tasks in order to streamline processes and reduce manual effort.
• Support audit readiness by maintaining organized documentation and coordinating financial statement audit activities.
Qualifications:
Keys
• Accounting or Finance Degree
• Experience managing accounting operations in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures, general ledger management, and journal entry review.
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules with a high degree of accuracy.
• Hands-on experience with account reconciliations and maintaining clean, well-documented financial records.
• Familiarity with financial statement audits and the ability to support auditors with required documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to identify process gaps and implement improvements within an accounting function.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills for partnering with both accounting staff and executive leadership.
