Sr. Accountant

Compensation: $75 to $85 Yearly

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core financial operations in Rosemont, Illinois. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, delivering timely financial reporting, and helping leadership understand financial performance through clear analysis. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to improve accounting processes while supporting audit and compliance needs.


Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and review account activity to identify trends, discrepancies, and unusual variances.

• Oversee general ledger activity by posting and reviewing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and ensuring records remain accurate and complete.

• Perform account, bank, and subledger reconciliations and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.

• Support internal and external audit activities by organizing schedules, compiling documentation, and responding to information requests.

• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts through financial analysis, cost review, and reporting that supports business planning.

• Help maintain compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal financial controls.

• Partner with accounting team members to guide daily work, share best practices, and provide support on complex accounting matters.

• Recommend and implement improvements that strengthen reporting accuracy, streamline close activities, and enhance overall efficiency.


Qualifications:

Keys

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated experience in month-end close, general ledger accounting, and preparation of journal entries.

• Strong background in account reconciliation and bank reconciliation procedures.

• Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Solid understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and applicable accounting principles.

• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to solve complex accounting issues.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly.

• Prior experience mentoring entry-level staff or providing guidance within an accounting team is preferred.
