Senior Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support a financial services organization in Honolulu, Hawaii through a Contract-to-permanent position. This role focuses on complex account analysis, reconciliations, regulatory support, and accurate financial reporting in a deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to work across departments to resolve issues and keep reporting obligations on track. Due to the nature of the work and onsite requirements, preference will be given to Hawaii residents. Applicants should be able to reliably commute or reside within the region to meet business needs. Responsibilities:

• Bank reconciliations
• Prepare Financial statements
• Generate reports
• Journal entry adjustments
• Tax filings
• Other accounting tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven accounting experience in a senior-level or advanced staff accountant capacity, preferably within financial services or a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger processes, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Experience supporting regulatory filings, tax-related reporting, audits, or compliance-driven accounting tasks.
• Familiarity with fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and balance sheet account analysis.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Advanced attention to detail with the ability to investigate discrepancies, resolve issues, and meet multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis.
