Payroll Clerk (Part-Time)

Location: Onsite

Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (24 hours/week)

Duration: Temporary Assignment through approximately October/November

Pay Rate: $29–$34/hour

About the Opportunity

Earth Tek is seeking a dependable and experienced Payroll Clerk to provide temporary support during a leave of absence. This position is critical to ensuring payroll operations continue smoothly while supporting the Controller and HR team during a busy period. The ideal candidate will be able to step in quickly with minimal training and independently manage payroll responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing

• Process weekly payroll for approximately 81 employees using SurePayroll
• Review, audit, and cost-code employee timecards
• Enter payroll data and ensure accuracy of payroll calculations
• Balance payroll between systems and submit payroll on schedule
• Print and process live checks as needed
• Manage direct deposits and payroll-related adjustments

Compliance & Reporting

• Process certified payroll reports for prevailing wage projects
• Submit required reports through LCPtracker
• Ensure compliance with DIR reporting requirements
• Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation

Payroll Administration

• Process Workers’ Compensation payments
• Process 401(k) contributions
• Administer child support payments and wage garnishments
• Process monthly commission payments
• Assist with payroll-related reporting and documentation

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience processing payroll independently
• Certified payroll experience required
• Experience with DIR reporting and LCPtracker
• Experience processing weekly payroll preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable managing payroll processes independently
• Experienced with certified payroll and compliance reporting
• Able to quickly adapt and contribute with minimal training
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
