Bookkeeper (Contract)

A family-owned agricultural company in Fallbrook is seeking a Bookkeeper to provide temporary support during a system transition and busy operational season. This role will oversee daily accounting functions while helping ensure accurate financial reporting and recordkeeping.

This opportunity is perfect for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and supporting a close-knit business environment.

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-Day Accounting

• Maintain general ledger transactions
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Manage vendor payments and customer billing
• Assist with payroll processing and payroll reporting
• Prepare financial reports for management review

Administrative & Financial Support

• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation
• Assist with month-end close activities
• Support external accountants during reporting cycles
• Help identify process improvements and workflow efficiencies

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience required
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop preferred
• Agriculture, construction, or family-owned business experience is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and prioritize deadlines
