Housed within the School of Public Health, the mission of the Department of Health Policy and Management is to improve public health through better planning, design, management, and evaluation of the myriad organizations that provide health services. The School's Center of Excellence in Maternal and Child Health Education, Science, and Practice (MCH CoE) aims to train the next generation of public health leaders committed to improving outcomes for birthing people, children, and families. The Center includes three core components: (1) the student training core, (2) postdoctoral fellows and early career faculty, and (3) the MCH workforce training core. Together, these cores advance education, research, and practice across the maternal and child health field.

The 3 Key Areas of Management of the Project Coordinator are: Program Coordination, Stakeholder Engagement & Communications, and Administrative & Financial Management.

Qualified candidates must possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in program coordination, project management, or administrative support, preferably in academic, research, or nonprofit settings.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in office and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Qualtrics or similar platforms).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including trainees, faculty, and community partners.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in public health, health sciences, social sciences, education, or a related field.
  • Experience in maternal and child health, reproductive health, health equity, or community-engaged research.
  • Familiarity with HRSA-funded programs or grant administration.
  • Experience coordinating trainings, events, or workforce development programs.
  • Knowledge of contracting and partnership processes with community-based organizations.

Job Summary

Manages all aspects of one or more projects for a research program and oversees all aspects of the project lifecycle. Provides leadership, technical direction, coordination, and expertise across projects. Analyzes progress and/or performance and prepares reports. Ensures compliance with budget, scope, timeline, and regulations. Assists with external communications.


Essential Functions

Project Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations across all three core components of the MCH CoE. This role will coordinate programming, manage communications, support trainees and faculty, and assist with administrative and financial processes. Position will work closely with Center leadership, trainees, faculty, and community partners to ensure the successful implementation of training, research, and workforce development activities. Manages all aspects of one or more projects for a research program and oversees all aspects of the project lifecycle. Provides leadership, technical direction, coordination, and expertise across projects. Analyzes progress and/or performance and prepares reports. Ensures compliance with budget, scope, timeline, and regulations. Assists with external communications and manages data and data collection activities.
