Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Blue Light Inspection Operator for our 2nd Shift (Monday – Friday, 2:00pm to 10:30pm) to ensure the precision and quality of our additively printed and machined parts. In this role, you will operate advanced non-contact measurement systems, execute high-tech inspections, and collaborate across engineering and production teams to uphold rigorous aerospace and industrial standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate blue light scanning and inspection equipment to assess additive and machined components.
  • Execute inspection programs and assist in development utilizing GOM software and related metrology systems.
  • Perform inspections including First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process, and final inspections.
  • Interpret technical data including engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
  • Analyze dimensional reports and document inspection findings accurately.
  • Investigate nonconformances and support root-cause analysis for dimensional discrepancies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with machining, engineering, and quality teams to optimize workflows.
  • Maintain equipment and keep flawless inspection logs in accordance with company procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or technical trade school certification in manufacturing, engineering technology, metrology, machining, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in machining, dimensional inspection, or metrology required; additional education may be considered in lieu of some experience.
  • Strong understanding of metrology principles, technical drawings, and GD&T standards.
  • Solid math, problem-solving, and computer skills.
  • High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience operating blue light scanning systems and GOM software.
  • Prior experience in aerospace (AS9100) or additive manufacturing environments.
