Position Description
Employees in this classification provide patient care management to an assigned clinic in the areas of clerical and clinical duties. In the clinical setting, the employee receives direct supervision from a physician or nursing supervisor in either oral or written form. In the office setting, the employee receives direct supervision from the department administrator. Work is performed under usual office and clinic conditions, and may be stressful when working under emergency conditions.

Required Qualifications
A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an approved certified program for assistants in the area of required specialty. Certification by an approved accredited certifying agency in the specialty that particular work will be performed.

Major/Essential Functions
- Administer medications and document them as ordered.
- Adheres to the facility policy and procedure of medication administration.
- Measure and record vital signs.
- Assist providers and nurses with examinations and minor procedures.
- Create clinic schedules and provide patient data for reporting.
- Prepare examination rooms, clean, equipment, and stock clinical supplies.
- Document patient care activities accurately with standards.
- Support infection control and safety practices in all aspects of clinical work.
- Perform other clinical duties as assigned.
