Position Summary:
We are seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) or PE-Track Structural Engineer to support the design and analysis of engineered wood structural components, including roof and floor trusses.
This role focuses on structural design in a highly efficient environment, offering the opportunity to apply engineering principles to real-world construction projects with faster design cycles and clear scope.
The engineer will contribute to design development, perform structural analysis, and support final engineering review, while building technical expertise in component behavior, load paths, and connection design.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform structural design and analysis of engineered wood structural components, including evaluation of loads, member forces, and connection behavior
Apply engineering judgment to standard and moderately complex design conditions
Review and refine designs prepared by designers and technicians for accuracy and completeness
Support development of structural solutions for non-standard conditions and repairs
Collaborate with senior engineers on final design review and project-specific challenges
Provide technical support to internal teams and customers regarding design assumptions and structural behavior
Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering standards, general notes, and internal processes
Ensure timely delivery of high-quality engineering designs while maintaining accuracy and consistency
Qualifications
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (any U.S. state), OR Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with eligibility and intent to obtain PE licensure within a defined timeframe
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline with coursework or experience in statics, structural analysis, and strength of materials
Strong understanding of structural behavior, load paths, and fundamental engineering principles
Ability to interpret construction documents and translate them into structural design solutions
Preferred Experience
Experience with structural design, component systems, or load-bearing assemblies
Familiarity with light-frame wood design or similar structural systems
Familiarity with building codes (IBC/IRC) and structural design standards
Experience working in a fast-paced or production-oriented engineering environment
