Sr. Accountant

Compensation: $105 to $125 Yearly

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations and help maintain accurate financial records in Nashville, Tennessee. This role will play a key part in the close process, balance sheet integrity, and day-to-day ledger activity while partnering with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and improve reporting accuracy. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing account activity, and helping ensure timely completion of financial reporting tasks.
• Maintain the general ledger by recording and verifying financial transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
• Prepare and post journal entries supported by clear documentation and appropriate approvals.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a recurring basis and investigate variances to support clean and accurate records.
• Perform bank reconciliations, identify outstanding items, and resolve differences in coordination with relevant teams.
• Analyze financial data to detect inconsistencies, recommend corrections, and strengthen accounting controls.
• Support audits and internal reviews by organizing account support and responding to requests for documentation.
• Collaborate across departments to gather information needed for accounting entries, reconciliations, and period-end reporting.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role with responsibility for month-end close activities.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and the preparation of journal entries.
• Demonstrated ability to complete account reconciliations accurately and on schedule.
• Experience performing bank reconciliations and researching unreconciled items.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting best practices.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize workload, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

$105,000.00-$125,000.00 Yearly
