Sr. Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Oversee month-end accounting tasks, including preparing journal entries, reviewing general ledger activity, and supporting an accurate and timely close process.
• Perform detailed bank and account reconciliations to identify discrepancies, resolve variances, and maintain reliable financial records.
• Process payroll activities and verify that payroll data is properly recorded within Blackbaud.
• Manage invoicing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions to support consistent cash flow and accurate transaction processing.
• Receive, prepare, and issue check payments while maintaining appropriate documentation and internal controls.
• Produce recurring and ad hoc financial reports to support operational visibility and decision-making.
• Handle grant-related financial processing and track restricted funds in accordance with funding requirements and organizational policies.
• Support day-to-day technical accounting needs while helping improve workflows and create efficient, dependable finance processes.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in senior-level accounting work, including month-end close, general ledger maintenance, and journal entry preparation.• Strong background in account reconciliation and bank reconciliation with close attention to detail.
• Experience supporting payroll processing and ensuring accurate posting of payroll-related transactions.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and check processing.
• Familiarity with grant accounting and the administration of restricted funds, preferably within a non-profit setting.
• Hands-on experience with Blackbaud; comparable experience with QuickBooks may also be relevant.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including the ability to work efficiently with spreadsheets and financial data.
• Ability to organize priorities, maintain accuracy, and contribute to effective accounting workflows in a fast-paced environment.
