Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity based in Greer, South Carolina. This role is ideal for someone who can manage financial reporting, maintain accurate records, and contribute to sound accounting practices across the organization. The position offers the chance to work hands-on with general ledger activity, reconciliations, tax-related tasks, and budget analysis in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:
• Reconcile subsidiary ledgers with general ledger balances to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Prepare regular financial reports and supporting schedules that help management understand business performance.
• Review accounting processes and evaluate control effectiveness by identifying risk areas and supporting compliance efforts.
• Analyze monthly balance sheet and income statement activity, including variance reviews against budgets and prior results.
• Assist with budget development by compiling financial data and preparing materials for management review.
• Maintain fixed asset records, track changes, and perform reconciliations to keep schedules current and accurate.
• Record and review journal entries to support period-end close activities and uphold general ledger integrity.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a staff accounting or similar accounting support role.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.
• Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return processes.
• Ability to prepare financial statements and analyze variances across key financial reports.
• Understanding of accounting controls and risk-focused review practices.
• Proficiency in organizing detailed financial data with a high level of accuracy.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with management and cross-functional teams.

Compensation

$25.65-$29.70 Hourly
