Accounting Specialist

This position partners closely with senior accounting leadership and is instrumental in supporting day-to-day financial operations. The role blends payroll coordination, general accounting, and compliance-related responsibilities, offering broad exposure across core accounting functions within a well-established organization.

It’s a hands-on opportunity ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, operates well under deadlines, and wants to contribute across multiple areas of the accounting cycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with end-to-end payroll activities, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements at the federal, state, and local levels
• Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial data
• Support accounts payable processes, including invoice review and processing
• Contribute to tax-related activities, including sales tax filings and industry-specific reporting requirements
• Help prepare financial reports and validate the integrity of underlying data
• Research and resolve discrepancies, including vendor and payment-related issues
• Identify and recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy
• Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain consistency and reliability of financial information

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
• Approximately 5+ years of experience in accounting, with exposure to payroll, accounts payable, or reporting functions preferred
• Proficiency in Excel and experience working within accounting/ERP systems
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
• Solid analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Compensation

$60,000.00-$65,000.00 Yearly
