In House Counsel
Responsibilities:
• Advise company leaders and internal teams on legal matters that affect day-to-day business operations and strategic decisions.
• Prepare, revise, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts while helping stakeholders understand key legal and business terms.
• Support transactions and other business initiatives by reviewing legal considerations and helping move projects forward efficiently.
• Provide guidance on compliance obligations, corporate governance matters, and regulatory issues relevant to the organization and industry.
• Assist with employment-related legal matters, including policy review and risk awareness connected to workforce issues.
• Evaluate potential legal exposure and recommend practical approaches that protect the business while supporting operational goals.
• Work closely with departments such as finance, human resources, operations, and executive leadership to address cross-functional legal needs.
• Track changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company and communicate relevant updates to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.• Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• At least 7 years of legal experience, with a background in advising business clients on varied legal issues.
• Strong ability to draft, analyze, and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Demonstrated skill in identifying legal risk and delivering practical, business-focused recommendations.
• Excellent communication, organization, and project coordination abilities.
• Ability to work independently while building effective partnerships with senior leadership.
• In-house legal experience is preferred, and backgrounds in environmental, construction, or manufacturing law are beneficial.
Compensation
