Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support a Southern New Jersey organization with day-to-day receivables operations in Tabernacle, New Jersey. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited for someone who brings strong experience in commercial collections, cash application, and billing support while maintaining accurate financial records. The person in this role will help keep incoming payments current, resolve account issues efficiently, and contribute to steady cash flow management.

Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts receivable activities by tracking open balances, monitoring payment status, and following up on overdue commercial accounts.
• Apply incoming payments accurately to customer accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure records remain current and reliable.
• Conduct collection outreach with careful attention to detail to secure timely payment and reduce outstanding receivables.
• Prepare and process customer billing transactions while verifying that invoices align with account details and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile daily cash activity and review account postings to identify and correct mismatches or unapplied payments.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address payment questions, resolve account issues, and support smooth receivables workflows.
• Maintain organized documentation of payment activity, collection efforts, and account updates for reporting and audit readiness.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, including commercial collections and cash application work.
• Hands-on background processing billing transactions and supporting day-to-day receivables functions.
• Ability to review cash activity accurately and reconcile payment details with customer accounts.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and follow through on resolutions.
• Effective communication skills for managing collection conversations and coordinating with internal business partners.
• Comfortable working independently while handling multiple priorities in a deadline-driven accounting environment.

Compensation

$23.00-$25.00 Hourly
